Achievement Badges for italki

These badges were created for italki's quarterly Language Challenge, where participants compete in 11 language learning teams to log the most study hours. Top leaderboard achievers receive these badges both digitally and as physical stickers.

With less than two weeks to deliver, I created 11 distinct scenes using only the brand's 4 main colors. The challenge was making each scene visually unique yet cohesive, and ensuring they remained distinguishable when viewed on mobile devices.

I designed 4 distinct silhouette styles to introduce variety without visual overload. Each illustration balances detailed craftsmanship for visual appeal with bold clarity for legibility at small sizes. The color system creates distinction—each team's badge uses a unique combination from the brand palette, ensuring instant recognition while maintaining stylistic unity.

Originally created for a single campaign, the badges resonated so strongly with users that they've been repurposed across italki's marketing materials for years, becoming a recognizable element of the brand.
